Girls Riding

My mom has sent me some programs to make movies.This is my first one i put pictures and movies together with some music in there.I think i did a pretty good job for my first one.Please leave a comment so i know if anyone is looking at this.

November 12,2008

Robert and I took the girls to the horse race track this last weekend they have 50cent night on Saturday and alot of free things for the kids to do.We don't know how to bet but watching them was alot of fun.The girls got there face painted,they had a clown that did animal balloons,and there faces drawn.We walked out to see the horses in the barn and a rider was coming up on his horse and asked the girls if they would like to pet it (its name was pepper) so of course they did.Then the man asked if they would hold Pepper for a minute and the man walked away.I think we stood there for about 10minutes when the man finally came back with a coke and some chips.It was really funny that he just left us with Pepper.The race track also has some animals to pet and you can do horse rides and it is all for free for the kids.It was so nice to go somewhere and it did not really cost us anything.I took alot of pictures and hope to have them on here in a couple of days.My mom has sent me some computer programs where i will be able to make my own movies out of pictures ,movies,and i will be able to edit and add special effects and music.
Sunday Robert had to do some ambulance time so he was gone from 7 to 7.I had gotten up around 5am and went back to sleep on the coach Robert went to work and it was so sweet because the girls got up sometime after that and saw me sleeping on the coach so they turned the TV off and very quietly went in the kitchen and made themselves waffles for breakfast.The girls also got dressed,brushed there teeth and hair and started doing some arts and crafts.Robert called around 9:30am and Courtney answered the phone and told him all about what they had did so i could sleep that is when i finally got up.I never sleep that long but my side has been hurting and i don't get alot of sleep.I thought that was so sweet of my girls to let me sleep in.Thank goodness they only wanted waffles and not something on the stove(although they know not to use the stove).Courtney and Kelsey are getting so big I guess I still think of them as little.You know how you always hear from older people(you know the people that there kids are adults or maybe even grandparents)that they grow up so fast.That is how I feel lately and I just wish they could stay little.
Tuesday night we have horse riding and it was so great that my dad came and watched.Last week Kelsey called him on the way to school to see if he would come watch and he said he would try.So it was really great that he did.It was to bad that Nancy had to work and could not come with him the girls wanted to show her too, maybe next time.Robert and the girls did not have work or school because of Veterans Day so we had the whole day to spend with each other and these days that does not happen very often.
Well I hope to make some neat movies and put them out here in the next couple of days.
Thought for today:The more trustworthy you are,the more trusting of others you will become.

2008 11 This last week

This week has been slower than usual Kelsey's soccer season is over so we do not have practice anymore.I really miss going and i know Kelsey misses playing also.They still do riding leasons on Tuesdays so that is good.It is so nice watching them do that they are both getting really good at it.Neither one has to be on a lead rope anymore Jennifer (instructor) has them learning the pattern of barrel racing.I do have a fun story about last Tues. I had left hamburger meat on the counter to defrost while we were at riding leasons and Robert gets home before we do and will make dinner. Well when he got home he could not find the meat and called me and i told him it was on the counter and he says "There is nothing on the counter"so i thought maybe i put in the fridge he says "There is nothing in the fridge"so him and i go back and forth for a while because i know that it is there.In the meantime Jennifer is listening to this conversation thinking it is funny because i was very adament that the meat was there.Robert starts walking around the house while i am on the phone with him and in our bedroom he finds the plate and the wrapper of the meat on the floor.Needless to say DAKOTA(our great dane)had a full meal of raw hamburger.She paid for it the next couple of days she pretty much lived outside because she had diarrhea so bad.
Robert has a friend at work that gave him an XBOX with alot of games the girls have been playing that in the evenings.And i know what you are thinking"I have always said i would never buy anything like that for the girls because i dont want them to get hooked on that"but i guess i lost that one since it is now sitting in our living room.
I cant remember if i wrote about this but courtney had a little hairline fracture in her wrist again about 2 weeks ago.She hurt it taking the saddle off the horse.Well on Thursday she had another xray and it seems to have healed so she only has to wear her wrist brace for riding for the next couple of leasons.She is really happy to get that brace off.She also is going back to her lung doctor on the 13th to have check up on her asthma.
My little Kelsey is the only one right now not having any problems.She is doing great at school and does not seem to sick very often.I better knock on some wood.We got the cuties soccer pictures of her they were taking by the soccer photographer and they did a great job.She is so independent she wants to everything her self.You should see her at riding she can saddle up the horse,pick its hooves,walk the horse to the corral and pretty much do everything her self.Jennifer just stands back and lets her do it.
Robert is starting his last semester of paramedic school he will be finished in Jan.Thank goodness!!!!He works till 5:15 and has to be at school at 6pm so on mon. and wed. and some sat. we dont see him.He has to something like 154hours of ambulance time this semester plus work and school.So starting this weekend I will really be a single mom.He has to all his ambulance time during weekends and any holidays that are coming up.But we can handle missing him till Jan. and then after that we will be back to normal he is going to take online course after that to finish getting a degree. I am so proud of him for finishing all this he will have alot of doors open for him once he is done and it will all be worth it.
As for me I am pretty boring. I just tend to the girls and do house work.I am pretty much the typical house wife and soccer mom.I am going to try and write in here more to keep everyone up to date on our day to day life.
Thought for today"Sometimes the only way to see ourselves clearly is through the eyes of another"My mom is my biggest fan who always lets me know who i really am.She is my cheeleader,my consulor,my support,and of course my best friend.

On Sunday we took a family trip to Kelly Air Force Base the Blue Angels were flying and some other planes.We had a really good time and the shows were fantastic.We were there for about 4 hrs. and it was really crowed but since everything was up in the air you could see everything.Courtney got in a helicopter but Kelsey did not want to so she stayed with me to take pictures.It was such a lovely day that we all enjoyed ourselves alot.I will try and put some movies out of the Blue Angels to.

2008 11 Kelsey last soccer game and awards

Well Kelsey played her last soccer game for the fall season.I dont know about Kelsey but i am really going to miss it. Both Courtney and Kelsey are going to play in the spring.I think it starts in March.Kelsey made the only goal in the last game and really showed her aggresiveness against a boy that was alot bigger than her.It was a really good game they have really improved since the first game.Kelsey is the lead scorer on her team.The other parents want to make sure she is coming back in the spring she has a real talent for the sport.They had a wonderful coach that made sure they got trophies and medals that is not a league thing the coach did it.She will have the same coach next season but Robert may help to that will be really great.

2008 10 31

The girls were Twitches for Halloween they wanted to be twins this year. They were able to wear there costumes to school on Friday and they did a parade for the kindergardners.They also wrote there own stories about a witch to take to school about there costumes. They both did a really good job.

Oct 19,2008 Pumpkin Patch

We had a really good day today the weather was beautiful and we went to Hondo TX for pumpkin picking and doing a really cool maze.It was in the shape of a tractor. The girls had to answer question on a piece of paper to tell us wich way to go so we would not get lost.This maze is on 7acres so it is really big.The girls also entered a costume contest Courtney won in her age group and Kelsey did not win but she got two free tickets to do other things on the farm.Needless to say Kelsey was not so happy but her big sister always comes thru and shared her prizes with her.Courtney has such a big heart like that.I have to say the girls may fight alot but when it comes down to it they care very much for each other. They had many things to do there the girls jumped on something that looked like a gaint pillow,they shot corn cobs in this gaint air gun and tried to hit signs that were out in the field,they got to eat roasted corn on the cob,we did a hay ride out to a pasture full of pumpkins,and they rode on a tractor ride.I think we spent about 4 hours out there and on the way home they both fell asleep in the car which is amazing they never nap. I have alot of pictures so i hope everyone enjoys thems.

Today is a very hot day here. I went for my walk around 11am and came back soaked in sweat.I guess i lost some weight that way.In the morning it is usually in the 60's and that is alot more comfortable to walk in.
Around 2:30 today Courtney called from school and the nurse thinks she may be getting pink eye.Kelsey had it last week so it only makes sense that she would have it now.I went and picked up both girls so i would not have to go back in 30min. for Kelsey.
Kelsey has a soccer game the next two Friday nights the first one is at 7:oo and the second one is 6:00. The kids think it will be great because they turn the lights on the field.So it should be a great two fridays.(Who ever wants to come is welcome just show up hope to see you there).HAHA
I have been doing some reading today and came across a good saying so i think i will share.Considering the importance of kindness,are we ever too busy to be kind?

Since my mom and grandmother left.

My mom and grandmother left on sat. We all have missed them being here it was so nice for them to experence how our lifes are and how busy we are.They went to all of the girls actvities.Grandmother would help Kelsey read and my mom would play games with them. We did have to cancel horseback riding since they were sick.I have to tell a funny story or it could be kind of sad.While grandmother was here she would sit out on the back porch most of the time(we had really good weather while they were here)and Dakota our greaat dane would go and sit in the same chair with grandmother and get her hip rubbed by grandmother(Dakota has bad hips and sometimes limps)Anyways they bonded very well when they left Dakota went into depression i think.She walked around the house and kept wanting outside I think she was looking for grandmother. Grandmother slept in Kelsey's room so dakota would go sleep on the rug in there for the last few days and then the other night I woke up really early and usually Dakota wants out right away and i could not find her I looked in every room and i finally found her in Kelsey's bed with her head on the pillow(Kelsey had earlier went and got in bed with us)I have not washed kelseys sheets yet so Dakota must have smelled grandmother in their.(it was so sweet yet sad).
Courtney and Kelsey had riding leasons last night and they both did something new.
Courtney is now trotting and posting at the same time on her own Jennifer(her riding instructor) took the lead rope off and Courtney went on her own she was trotting around barrels and just looked so natural doing it.I was a very proud mom watching her on her own she had no fear or nothing.
Kelsey is now starting to learn balance and rode with only one hand on the reign at at time.She was kinda scared so Jennifer let her keep one hand on.After about 5 minutes Kelsey went into a walk and then decided to let go of the reigns completly and post without hanging on.(Just in case anyone is wondering what posting is they have to stand up in the stirups and go up and down with the horses movements using nothing but there legs)So you can see why Kelsey was a little scared especailly when the horse is trotting, so i was very proud of her wanting to let go at a walk.
Robert is very busy with school and work and we dont see him very much,but he will finally be done with paramdic school in Jan. so hopefully i will get a husband back.The girls and i miss him when he is not around.
As for me a go for walk every morning after i take the girls to school (You can see by the pictures on my blog i have gained alot of weight)i walk about 4 to 5 miles everyday.Then i come home and do my stay home mom chores before they get home.And then i am off and running when they get home as a soccer mom,lesson mom,cook,teacher,nurse,and provider.My mom will now exactly what i am talking about.Courtney takes alot of meds. for asthma and the girls get scratched and bruised all the time climbing in trees and what ever else they can find to do.
As for today i think i need a little dose of reality i am going to go see a friend and when i visit with him i realize what is really important in life. It makes me slow down and reallize that the most important things are NOT Is the house clean,laundry or dishes done,the yard mowed, or any of the other things that can be put on hold. He makes me realize to slow down and spend time with my family and enjoy everyminute of it whether it be playing with girls,talking to Robert on the phone for the few minutes he has, watching every movement the girls make at there leasons and showing them how proud i am and stopping everything else to do that, talking on the phone with family to see how there doing and just enjoy life, you never know when you may not have that chance again.
Well there are my feeling for today i hope i can remeber to do that.

I found an old video of the girls and I when robert was in Iraq.I had a good friend Jaime whos mom took the video. It was really nice to see the girls when they were little Courtney was almost 3yrs and Kelsey was a little over 1yr.

Mom and Grandmother visting from Minnesota

My mom and grandmother came down on Wednesday.They drove for 19hours to get here.We were so excited about them coming.Kelsey tried to play hookie from school that day but i made her go and told her we would all be there to pick her up from school.After school on Mon. and Wed. Kelsey had soccer practice my mom has this great thing that she can take her laptop everywhere she goes and she has a web cam on it so while Kelsey was at practice my mom broadcast it on her webcam and you can see it on my blog that way everyone can watch. She also took movie of it. Kelsey has a game on Sat at 9:00am and we will be putting it on the cam so if you watch my blog at that time you can see the game.I have to say Kelsey is really good she made 2 of the 4 goals at the last game and they won.Also on Tues. the girls have horse riding leasons and the cam will be going again their leason is at 5:00pm till 7:00 if anyone would like to see that. Courtney is really good the trainer now has her at a full trott with out hands on the reins Courtney is learning balance so she puts her arms out like an airplane and has to post in a full trott (posting is standing up in her stirups and off her saddle just using her legs)it is very difficult but she does very well. Kelsey is still learning to post so she gets to use her reins but she is very good as well. Robert's Retirement from the Navy 06/25/07

We thought we had lost all the pictures and video of Roberts retirement.I decided to clean out all of our junk drawers and cabnets and i found them.I guess i should have done that a long time ago. My mom and grandmother are coming down on Tuesday so i have to clean, clean ,and more cleaning.I know that they would not really care but i hate to have a messy house.On top of cleaning out clutter we also bathed the dogs today and put up our fall decor in the front yard.I know our neighbors probably think we are crazy for doing it so early but anyone who knows me knows i always put up our yard decor for the holidays early.I just love looking at them.I think i have 5 scarecrows and i put up some fall leaves garland around the front door.
Tomorrow we are cleaning out closets and getting rid of alot of the clothes that dont fit the girls anymore.If any of them are nice i will send them home with my mom to give to my niece Lexi. I am so excited about my mom and grandmother coming i always have alot of fun when they are here. The day they get here we go to HEB (our grocery store)and by alot of fun food(that is what my mom and I call junk food and special dinners we are planning on making). They will be coming to all of our activities like soccer practice,horseback riding lessons,and Kelseys soccer game.We are also going to Sea World and down to the River Walk.I should have alot of pictures that i will put out here during the next 2 weeks.

Kelsey's First Soccer Game

Kelsey had her first soccer game on the 6th.Their team is the Allstars they won 4-3.Kelsey made 2 goals it was so exciting watching her.I tried to video tape it but I got to into the game that i realized i was watching them play and facing the video camera at the ground and the sky.You kind of get a little sea sick watching it.Robert is coming to her next game on saturday and he will do a better job video taping it.Courtney has decided that she would like to play next year.I think that is great i love watching them with soccer and horse riding.

Kids

Sorry i have not written in here in a while the kids have been keeping me busy.School start on Monday the 25th and Kelsey's soccer started the same day.Before that I had a very special man who I took care of for a while pass away.In the short time i took care of him he taught me alot about how you should treat people.He was a very caring and giving man who i will greatly miss.
Okay enough of that or i will be crying again.
Courtney started 3rd grade and Kelsey started 1st.They both love school today now yesterday Kelsey hated it so you never know from one day to the next.Courtney is horse riding still but now she does it on Tuesday night.Kelsey is still debating if she wants to keep doing it.Kelsey has started soccer and she loves it her first game is next week.Her team is called the Allstars and they are getting green and white shirts.
Kelsey has also lose two teeth so it looks like one big hole in her mouth.
I think Courtney will do alot better in school this year she loves her teacher and the teacher really likes her.
Robert has been really busy he works till 5:30 and then has school at 6.For his school he also has to do ER time and ambulance and that is usually done on the weekends. For the next couple of months i will be a single mom the girls dont really understand but it is only until Jan. Then Robert will be a paramedic.
That is what we have been doing for the last couple of weeks.
I will write in here more often so keep checking back and dont forget to leave comments for us. I forgot a couple of things that you will see in the slide show we had a praying mantis on our deck that Robert took a pic. of and the girls did Roberts hair in a mohawk, there first day of school pictures are in there to.They also had a slumber party and their friend and them made sundays with everything they could find.

Well i have to tell you about Courtney she went to the doctor today just for a check up. She is doing well but her cough is back but luckily her lungs are clear. He gave her some cough meds, and that should help. We do have to stop her allergy med. while she is on it. The office visit was horrible the second we got there you would think the girls were hyped on caffeine or something. I promise they had none before we got there. Kelsey was burping in the exam room making Courtney laugh really hard which started a coughing fit, and it just went on and on. The doctor comes in and Kelsey is like a little monkey climbing on me the chair and exam table. Even the DR. told her maybe we needed to put her in a straight jacket and velcro her to the wall. I really dont know what happened but my girls just completly lost their manners. Courtney did have to give a little blood. She was a little scared but she lets them do what ever they want. They are checking her iron level because the lung doctor think she maybe anemic because she moves her legs a lot when she sleep we found that out during her sleep test.
Yesterday was a long day as well my back was bothering me so i did not feel like doing anything. On days like that the girls just run the house so you could imagine the house. I got so tired around 9:00 and Robert had school so i told the girls to just lay on the floor and watch cartoons until Robert came home aroung 10:00. In case i fell asleep on the couch. Well I did so they decided to call Roberts cell phone and talk to him. You see Kelsey figures everything out and has a memory that you could not believe so she has memorized our cellphone numbers and she will just pick up the phone and call. Robert asked the girls where I was and they told him "Mom is sleep and we are protecting the house" they talked to him until he got home. In the meantime i had no idea it even happened until Robert told me this morning. Anyway that is pretty much how my two days have gone I know probably more happened but i can't remember right now.

August 11,2008

Today was just a regular day. The girls had riding lessons this morning and they are getting really good at. They look so little on top of these huge horses. I know Ashley ask about Courtney getting a horse.As soon as we get some land to put one on that will be the first thing we get. For those of you who dont know the story behind that when we lived in Mass. we always told Courtney and Kelsey that as soon as we move to Texas they could have a horse and pig. Unfortunaly that did not happen. Hopefully it will in the near future.
Also today Kelsey is sick. She is running a fever and she has been laying around. But you know how kids are as soon as the Motrin hit she became a wild indian .It has now been around 4 hrs since i gave it to her and she is getting slower and slower. I am hoping for a early evening, but the girls now watch wrestling every Monday and Friday and every pay per view of it. Yeah Me!!! Well I will write more in the next day or two.

The girls peditrician in Massachusetts had this sign in his exam rooms.I remember sitting there reading it and thinking what a good sign it was. Tonight I have been looking on the internet for inspirational thoughts to try and make myself a better person,wife,mother,and friend.I came across this and thought maybe some of you would like it as much as I do.To me it is just so true.
